CMT has ordered 11 more episodes of bounty hungers "Dog," Beth and Leland Chapman's new series bringing its Season 1 order to 22 episodes. Production on the back 11 episodes will begin immediately.
"We knew Dog and Beth would shake up the programming landscape at CMT and they've done just that, more than doubling our quarter-to-date prime average," said CMT's executive vice president Jayson Dinsmore in a statement on Tuesday.

Produced by Electus, "Dog and Beth" has become the cable channel's top rated series in its first five weeks of airing. It is also performing well on Video On Demand and social media.
"In addition to ratings success, the show has seen the largest level of social media engagement of any previous CMT series, with an incredibly dedicated, impassioned fan base. Dog, Beth, Leland and Electus are fantastic to work with, and we look forward to getting them back on the road to continue the hunt," Dinsmore added.
A&E canceled the family's previous series, "Dog the Bounty Hunter," last April after eight seasons.
Melissa McCarthy allegedly booted a female extra from the set of her directorial debut "Tammy" on Monday after catching the woman mistreating, and possibly even abusing, her child.
TMZ reports the unidentified woman reported to work on the Wilmington, N.C., set with a 4 to 5 year-old child in tow and struggled to control the child's behavior.
McCarthy's reps did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment.

Witnesses said the young mother was frequently verbally reprimanding her disruptive child, but then went a step too far in McCarthy's eyes by strongly jerking the child up in the air by the wrist.
According to TMZ, McCarthy witnessed the incident and immediately ordered production assistants to remove the woman and child from set.
The "Heat" actress co-wrote and is co-directing "Tammy" with her husband, Ben Falcone. Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are producing under Gary Sanchez Productions.
McCarthy also stars as the titular character who loses her job and learns her husband is unfaithful, so she hits the road with her profane, hard-drinking grandmother.
Jamie-Lynn Sigler is the latest celebrity to stick up for Kim Kardashian.
With tabloids and critics ("True scum," according to Khloe Kardashian) continuing to slam the reality star for her weight gain, Sigler appeared on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live this week and talked Kim up.
"I feel really bad for her," said the actress, who is also expecting. "It's hard being pregnant. Your body does change; I mean my boobs have like quadrupled in size and it's hard."

When Shia LaDouche signed up for Lars Von Trier's Nymphomanic, he said that the scenes were going to be so graphic that you'd be able to see the fleas from his ass hairs jump up and down as he had missionary-style sex with his co-star. Shia insinuated that he was making fancy art house porn, but then Lars Von Trier later said that he was planning to use body doubles and special effects to make it look like the actors (including Shia, Charlotte Gainsburg, Uma Thurman, Willem Dafoe, Jamie Bell, Stellan Skarsgård, Connie Nielsen and Christian Slater) had actual sex with each other.
Well, The Hollywood Reporter says that Lars is CGI'ing the dicks and chochas of body doubles onto the actors. Lars shot the actors having fake movie sex and also shot the body doubles having real sex. He's going to cut and paste the bottom part of the body doubles onto the bottom part of the actors. The movie's producer explained it like this:
"We shot the actors pretending to have sex and then had the body doubles, who really did have sex, and in post we will digital-impose the two. So above the waist it will be the star and the below the waist it will be the doubles.”
Nymphomaniac was supposed to make its debut at Cannes, but because of all the work it takes to copy and paste a body double's dick onto Shia's crotch, they didn't make the deadline. It will premiere on Christmas Day (Merry Christmas!) in Copenhagen.
I totally understand why Lars didn't let Shia have actual sex. If he did, the entire movie would've been shut down by the health department. Since Lars is a slave to the details, I'm sure he hired exact body doubles of the actors. So I'm guessing that Shia's body double is a mouse. I mean, we've all seen it in that Sigur Rós video.
Ricky Gervais' "Derek," a new Netflix series from the creator and star of "The Office" and 'Extras," will premiere on Netflix Sept. 12. Netflix will release all seven episodes at once, the same approach it has taken with its latest original series "House of Cards" and "Hemlock Grove."

Gervais wrote and directed the show, which he also stars in as the title character. Derek is a a sweet, selfless but meek man who works in a retirement home alongside Dougie (Karl Pilkington) and Hannah (Kerry Godliman). The show will be available in the United States, Canada, Ireland, Latin America, Brazil and the Nordics.
It will not be available in the U.K., where the show already premiered on Channel 4 and will return for a second season.

JS Communications has finally settled for a reduced break-up fee in the drawn-out Rhythm & Hues bankruptcy saga. It’s been two months since troubled VFX house R&H sold out of bankruptcy to Prana Studios-led Holdings, LLC following a rollercoaster closed-door auction. At issue was the court-approved $425K fee promised to JS Communications as stalking horse bidder if a qualified rival beat them out for the Life Of Pi company, which JS was eyeing to buy. But in a hotly contested development, JS failed to meet a deadline to submit its bid (exec David Shim told me then that his dealings with Fox and Universal left him less than optimistic about buying R&H without future work assurances). Per a court document filed this week (read it here), JS will receive a $300K break-up fee. If approved in court on June 4, that should put the R&H saga to bed for the time being; multiple class action lawsuits against R&H filed by former employees have yet to be settled.
Steven Spielberg is taking on the "Halo" videogame franchise.
The "Indiana Jones" director will executive-produce a live-action series based on the "Halo" series for the new console Xbox One, Xbox said Tuesday.

The series was announced as the company revealed the new console on Tuesday.
The live-action "Halo," which will include exclusive interactive Xbox One content, is being created in partnership with 343 Industries and Xbox Entertainment Studios.
Microsoft finally unveiled the Xbox One, its next-generation successor to the Xbox 360 game console, with an impressive demonstration of a voice- and gesture-controlled device focused more on integrating and controlling all kinds of entertainment and social capabilities far beyond just playing videogames. The #XboxReveal event at Microsoft’s Seattle-area campus included the announcement by Xbox Entertainment Studios President Nancy Tellem that Steven Spielberg will create a new live-action TV show based on the “Halo” game franchise. In a video, Spielberg, a longtime game fan who also oversaw the launch of the DreamWorks Interactive game studio in the 1990s, briefly said “the Halo universe is an amazing opportunity to be at an intersection where technology and myth-making converge.”

The new Byzantium trailer has dropped, hitting all the dark, cold, Victorian notes you'd expect from a vampire movie, but it's hard to place the film in time.
It clearly takes place in modern times, but seeing as it has vampiric themes, some of it feels pretty old-world.
Saoirse Ronan stars as Eleanor, a vampire who wreaks havoc in an English sea town with her mother Clara, played by Gemma Arterton.

The Weinstein Company has acquired the rights to "Passengers," an upcoming sci-fi film starring Keanu Reeves and Reese Witherspoon, according to multiple individuals with knowledge of the deal. The movie won't begin filming for at least a few months, and TWC plans to release it next year.
Reeves will star as a passenger on a spacecraft transporting thousands of people to a distant planet. Due to a malfunction in a sleep chamber, he awakens years before anyone else. All alone on the vessel, he decides to wake up another passenger (Witherspoon).
The concept and script have been popular for a few years, but the package for it did not come together until the past few months with both Reeves and Witherspoon signing on in the past month and a half.
"Game of Thrones" director Brian Kirk will make his feature directing debut from a script by "Prometheus" writer Jon Spaihts. Wayfare Entertaiment will finance and produce the film. Wayfare's Ben Browning will produce with Reeves and Stephen Hamel.
CAA handled the domestic rights while Exclusive Media is still shopping the movie overseas.
Headed into the festival Exclusive Media international sales chief Alex Walton described the movie as "big in terms of scale and ambition, and more than that, a big movie in terms of commercial potential."
The Weinstein Company has bought into that, with Deadline, which first reported the acquisition, claiming that TWC paid several million for the rights with a much larger marketing commitment. The New York-based company already plopped down $6 million for Stephen Frears' "Philomena" and also acquired "Suite Francaise."
