We are at the end of a long Cannes, and jury members have had the opportunity to see all 20 films in the main competition. Roman Polanski’s Venus In Fur was the last to screen in the 8:30 slot this morning and had its official premiere Saturday night. Followed by JIm Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive which was the last Red Carpet premiere of the fest (even though it actually had two “unofficial” screenings Friday night and another this afternoon). 
Of interest to note: I’m told that making this year’s official competition selection was not easy. And that the films competing are the only ones seen as worth competing. In other words, the pool of available movies out there that met Cannes standards was limited. That’s unlike past years when maybe 5 to 10 different films could legitimately have competed for the same slot. Cannes Film Festival general delegate Thierry Fremaux expressed frustration to me there wasn’t more to choose from. But that can happen when your fest is in the spring and not fall when more serious movies are released. Carrie Underwood is making sure she sends support to her native Oklahoma in the wake of this week's devastating tornado.
The hit country star and "American Idol" winner donated $1 million from the proceeds of her "Blown Away Tour" to the American Red Cross's disaster relief fund.
"I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness," Underwood said in a statement on her official website.
"With the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornados."

The tornado, which hit Oklahoma City and surrounding areas earlier this week, left 24 dead and more than 370 people injured.
"The impact of the tornados in Oklahoma and the Midwest was devastating and the road to recovery will be long for many families," said the American Red Cross's chief development officer Neal Litvack.
"Through the generosity of Carrie, the American Red Cross can quickly respond with shelter, food and comfort now, and with lasting help as they move toward recovery," he continued.
The six-time Grammy winner also recently donated to the organization's relief fund after Storm Sandy devastated New Jersey last year.
Underwood performed her last performance of the "Blown Away Tour" on Thursday.
Also just announced, fellow Oklahoma native and "The Voice" coach Blake Shelton will be holding a benefit concert for disaster relief next Wednesday, which will air live at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, as well as NBCU sister networks Style, G4, Bravo, E! and CMT on either a live or delayed basis.

Aviva Drescher is back on for the sixth season of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New York City," a Bravo insider confirmed to TheWrap.
The housewife, who held the production hostage along with her cast mates for bigger paychecks earlier this month, broke the news on Twitter.

Masochist, indeed. After Drescher and the other housewives failed to get raises from the network and she missed their deadline to finalize their agreements, the network resumed production with only four returning housewives: Ramona Singer, Heather Thompson, Carole Radziwill and Sonja Morgan.
A former New York cast member recently told TheWrap that Bravo was "holding out" on Drescher and LuAnn de Lesseps for missing their deadline.

This is, of course, the second time Drescher has agreed to come back to the show after previously accepting her offer in principle than going back on her word earlier.

The studio says it opened #1 in every territory and is dominating the box office with 65% market share. Friday’s international gross is $36M at 8,583 dates for an early total of $90M. This is Universal’s highest grossing Friday of all time and will be Universal’s biggest overseas weekend by a large margin. The international total will be $169M though Sunday. Combined with the North American estimates of $96.2M, the three-day weekend worldwide total will be $265.2M.

"The Missing Picture" by Rithy Panh has been named the best film in the Un Certain Regard sidebar at the Cannes Film Festival.
The film uses clay figures to recreate Panh's childhood under the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia.
The jury was headed by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg and also included actresses Ludivine Sagnier and Zhang Ziyi.
Other prizes went to Hany Abu-Assad's "Omar," Alain Guiraudie's "Stranger by the Lake," Diego Quemada-Diez's "La Jaula de Oro" and Ryan Coogler's "Fruitvale Station."
In a letter to Cannes' Thierry Fremaux and Gilles Jacob, Vinterberg wrote, "One of the finest achievements in filmmaking is to create unforgettable moments -- moments that stay with us -- as a collective memory -- as a collective mirror of our existence.
"Clay figures, extreme beauty, violence, homosexual blow jobs, systematic humiliation of the human kind, Léa Seydoux's legs, great Brando imitations are just some of the unique images that will follow us for a while.
"This selection was insistingly unsentimental, and still poetic. It was political, highly original, sometimes disturbing, diverse and first of all, very often -- unforgettable."
Other films in the sidebar included Sofia Coppola's "The Bling Ring," Claire Denis' "Bastards" and James Franco's "As I Lay Dying."
The Palme d'Or, and other prizes for films in the main competition, will be announced on Sunday.

Frances Bean Cobain is not letting Kendall Jenner off the hook.
After the former slammed the latter as a self-absorbed idiot for Tweeting about the difficulty of her life, Jenner responded in fairly reasonable fashion.
She acknowledged her good fortune in life, but also took Cobain to task for judging her, essentially asking: Can't wealthy people have problems, too?
So, with the contentious ball in Frances' Twitter court, the 20-year old wrote back last night with a semi-apology ("I don't know you nor do I think ur a bad person"), followed by a bashing of both Kendall and many social media users in general:
"Publicly complaining about how hard your life is is completely self serving ... I believe that venting about ones problems via the Internet is a blatant cry for attention. "
Cobain concluded with words of wisdom/mockery:
"I try to deal w/ pain in a manner that pertains to my real life not in a way where strangers throw me a pity party."

The 2013 Un Certain Regard prizes were handed out by Thomas Vinterberg’s jury this evening in Cannes. Cambodian director Rithy Panh won the top award for his first-person story The Missing Picture. The Jury Prize was given to the well-liked 
Omar by Oscar nominee Hany Abu-Assad. Alain Guiraudie won the Directing Prize for the controversial but acclaimed erotic thriller Stranger By The Lake which Strand Releasing picked up this week. The Un Certain Talent award was given to the ensemble of actors from Spanish director Diego Quemada-Diez’ The Golden Cage. And Ryan Coogler’s Fruitvale Station was honored with the Prize of the Future. His film, which won the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award in Sundance, held a berth in UCR that’s usually reserved for movies that made a name in Park City. "Fast & Furious 6" put its pedal to the metal with a $38.1 million Friday that has the Memorial Day weekend box office on a blistering record pace.
The latest entry in Universal's muscle-car movie franchise could hit $120 million for the four-day weekend, and the overall box office is on track to top $300 million, which would easily outstrip the $276 million rung up in 2011, when "Hangover II" led the way with $85 million.
The follow-up to that film, "The Hangover Part III," was running second after bringing in $14.5 million Friday. The final installment in Warner Bros.' raunchy R-rated comedy series, which opened Thursday, is looking at four-day total of around $53 million, and should wind up at around $63 million for the long weekend.

"Fast & Furious 6" was scoring overseas too. It debuted No. 1 in 59 foreign markets and took in $36 million Friday, which projects to more than $150 million from abroad this weekend. That will easily beat the studio's previous best, which was the $92.3 million "Fast Five" rolled up in 2011.
Combined with the huge domestic debut, it was the best-ever Friday at the box office for Universal, which could see a worldwide total of $265 million for "Fast & Furious 6" by the end of the weekend.

The weekend's other wide opener, Fox's animated family film "Epic," debuted with $9.2 million and is on its way to around $43 million for the four days. Its project weekend gross places it just behind last week's No. 1 movie, Paramount's "Star Trek Into Darkness," which took in $10 million and is on pace for a $48 million four-day haul.
The next three days should stay busy at the box office, with both "Fast & Furious 6" and "Epic" receiving "A" CinemaScore grades from first-night audiences and driving word of mouth. "Hangover III" got a "B."

Disney's Marvel superhero sequel "Iron Man 3" rolled up another $5.1 million Friday and should finish at around $26 million for the four days. That raises its domestic total to $351 million, and its worldwide haul to more than $1.1 billion.
Warner Bros. "The Great Gatsby," which topped $100 million domestically Thursday, followed with $3.9 million Friday and is looking at a $16.8 million four-day total. "Mud," "The Croods," "42" and "Oblivion" rounded out the top ten.

"Fast & Furious 6" dominated Friday, averaging $10,440 on its 3,658 screens. "The Hangover Part III" averaged $4,060 per-screen in 3,555 theaters.
"Fast and Furious 6" brings back Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson along with director Justin Lin, who has overseen four of the franchise's films. It also revives fan-favorite Michelle Rodriguez, who was killed off in an earlier segment.
The London-set terrorist plot is a long way from the franchise's street-racing roots. Since the first film 12 years ago the "Fast and Furious" movies have brought in more than $1.5 billion.
"Blue is the Warmest Color," Abdellatif Kechiche's three-hour coming-of-age drama about a teenage girl in a lesbian relationship, was named the best film in the main competition at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival by the Fipresci International Federation of Film Critics.
The film, titled "La Vie D'Adele – Chapitre 1 & 2" in French, received widespread attention for its lengthy, graphic sex scenes, but it also took many critics by surprise and became one of the best-reviewed films of the festival.
The winner was chosen by a jury of nine international film critics headed by Klaus Eder from Bayerischer Rundfunk in Germany. The main Cannes jury, headed by Steven Spielberg, will award the Palme d'Or on Sunday.
Mohammad Rasoulof's "Manuscripts Don't Burn" won the Fipresci award as the best film in the Un Certain Regard section, while Jeremy Saulnier's "Blue Ruin" was chosen tops in the Directors' Fortnight section.
Last year's winners were Sergi Loznitza's "In the Fog" in the main competition, Benh Zeitlin's Oscar-nominated "Beasts of the Southern Wild" from Un Certain Regard and Rachad Djaidani's "Hold Back" from Directors' Fortnight.
In another award announced on Saturday, Asghar Farhadi's "The Past" won the top prize from the Cannes Ecumenical Jury. Farhadi's last film, the Oscar-winning "A Separation," had won that same prize at Cannes two years ago.
The Ecumenical Jury gave special commendations to actress-turned-director Valeria Golino's "Miele" and Hirokazu Kore-eda's "Like Father, Like Son."
SATURDAY UPDATE, 10:48 AM: The union says that it will “vigorously respond in the appropriate forum in due course” to the suit filed Friday by former SAG president Ed Asner and others over $110 million in undistributed residuals and royalties. Claiming that they are “proud” and “confident” in their foreign royalties program, SAG-AFTRA admit they haven’t actually seen the filing itself.
